Meet our President, Michael C. Armbruster, who leads VBH Technologies and holds key positions in industry committees. A former president of NAHAD, known for developing safety standards for the hydraulic hose fabrication industry, he began working for VBH in 1993 after graduating from Purdue University with a mechanical engineering degree.
As the President Emeritus of the Association for Hose and Accessory Distribution, Chairman of the Hydraulics Committee, and Chair of the Assembly Guidelines Committee, Michael evaluates standards and sets parameters for hose products and assemblies used industrywide throughout the US.
From Valley Belting & Hose to VBH Technologies:
A Legacy of Expertise in Industrial Hose and Rubber Products
Founded in 1983 by Carl Armbruster, VBH Technologies—formerly known as Valley Belting & Hose—has been a leading provider of industrial hose assemblies, rubber products, and custom gasket fabrication solutions for over 40 years.
Carl’s passion for the rubber industry began early, while attending St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. To help finance his education, he started fabricating gaskets, gaining hands-on experience that would shape his future career. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1963 with a degree in Management and a minor in Marketing, Carl joined Goodyear Engineered Products. His time there deepened his knowledge of engineered rubber solutions and introduced him to the complexities of large-scale manufacturing and product distribution. Goodyear’s division would later become part of Continental ContiTech, a global leader in rubber technology.
After four years with Goodyear, Carl was recruited by Pennington Rubber Co. as a sales representative, where he quickly became an expert in rubber hose solutions, custom gaskets, and industrial sales strategy. His leadership skills earned him the role of General Manager, where he spearheaded efforts to expand the company’s fabrication capabilities.
Motivated by a desire to deliver more innovative and customer-focused solutions, Carl founded Valley Belting & Hose in Woodlawn, Ohio. Over the decades, the company built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and technical expertise.
To reflect its growth beyond traditional hose and rubber products—and its expanded capabilities in hose assembly engineering, tube bending, design support, and custom prototyping—the company rebranded in 2015 as VBH Technologies. This transformation marked a new chapter while honoring the legacy Carl built.
Today, VBH Technologies, led by Michael Armbruster, continues to lead the industry with cutting-edge solutions and a relentless commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
